Food and Drink

The Walsworth Community Center does not provide food or drink services, so you must contract separately for catering services. The WCC also reserves the right to determine the areas where food and drink service is permitted.

The general sobriety of guests is the responsibility of the renter. Alcoholic beverages may not be served to minors, and public intoxication or other disorderly conduct which jeopardizes the WCC, will not be tolerated.

Damage Deposit

Upon execution of the Facility Rental Agreement, renter shall provide to the WCC the damage deposit. Should damage occur to the premises, the deposit will be kept, and the WCC will forward a detailed accounting of such charges to the renter. Should the premises be left in good condition, the deposit will be returned to the User via U.S. Mail. Payment of such excessive damage is required within 30 days of notification. Should the renter question such charges, they should contact the WCC Office.

Setup and Decorations

Overhead hanging cables are available for decoration use, but you must provide the lift/ladder to access them. ALL DECOR AND/OR EQUIPMENT MUST BE PICKED UP THE NIGHT OF THE EVENT (or by Sunday at noon if you have a weekend rental.) CONTACT THE WCC OFFICE IF SPECIAL ARRANGEMENTS ARE NEEDED.

Breakdown and Cleanup

All rental and decoration items must be removed immediately after your event (or by the end of your contract.) Renter and vendors will ensure thorough clean up, including depositing all trash in the correct containers/dumpster or carrying it away. In the event of non-compliance, the WCC reserves the right to remove these materials at the renter’s cost and liability. At the end of the event, break down must be completed before you leave (or by Sunday at noon if you have a full weekend rental.) Events that require a longer break down time will be charged an additional fee.

Kitchen cleanup also includes making sure all countertops and equipment are clean, refrigerators / freezers must be fully emptied and cleaned; dirty linen deposited in a plastic bag and placed in the closet for cleaning.

Parking

The WCC has a small lot behind the building, and there is sufficient parking around the community and downtown Marceline.

Availability

The WCC is generally available for rental Monday-Sunday. All events are scheduled within the discretion of the WCC. The selection of a date does not itself hold that date indefinitely. The WCC may hold the requested date up to 2 weeks from initial contact with the WCC Office. To reserve an event date, a deposit of $150 must be made to the WCC Office. Final payment is due no later than 30 days before the event.

Vendors that work at the WCC are independent. All pricing, licenses, insurance, contracts, and performance are the responsibility of the client.
